In my personnal philosophy, i have narrowed three things down as being the worst things in the universe, and by this i mean if these things were taken away from the world we might live in a utopia. These things are...
1:Goverment
2:Offendabilty
3:Emotionality
Number one is quite simple, the goverment is rarely good. When power given, power will ultimately be abused. As the old saying goes, "Absolute power corrupts Absolutly." Now we have abused power, we have an abused people.
Number two is a little more complicated. I personally believe people being offended by anything created only problems. It could be as much as a entire religion being offended by anothers life style, or a single soul being offended by another persons bad choice of words, the person who has became offended has essentially created another problem for the world. People should not be offended, as nothing is worth what comes next. Terrorism, War, broken friendships, and broken lives all stem back to someone being offended.
Number three is the most difficult for me to explain. I think its better said as "abused emotionality", as i understand people crying at funerals, but if a person uses their emotions liberally, then one will do nothing to help the world. Lets take worrying. Worrying could be defined as "putting everything foward mentally to achieve nothing". Sounds great, doesn't it? You wreck yourself and gain nothing in return. You could take crying. Yes, like i said, when there is something truley upsetting like death, i understand crying. I don't like people crying because they are offended, annoyed, frustrated, or just somewhat distressed. I grew up in the ninties, and being "sensitive" was pounded into my head, so im used to "crying is good", and im well aware of the persecution of people who hide or advocate hiding their feelings. Maybe the formentioned are right. Hiding you feelings might suck just a little for you, but not hiding them sucks for everyone else. Society suffers in the noise of fake sadness. Have you ever met an emo you liked? I think not!
These rules are something to live by. Live by them.
